What Our Students Say
My name is Khanyiswa Mzamane. I am one of the candidates selected for Generic Management . In this Generic Management programme we have the following: class exercises, POE, group work and Task assessments. Each module have its credit. The journey was not easy at all, but because of the facilitator that we’ve been blessed with it was much more manageable to complete all of the modules. The things we learned applied to us. For example problem solving and knowing our weakness and our strengths. I promised to the person who chose me to be the part of GCP I will never disappoint as I said in the interview. I am very thankful for getting this opportunity to be part of the Generic Management programme.
“You can truly get out what you put in"
The year 2021 was very eventful to say the least, it taught me many things like hardships we are facing with the economy dropping to an all-time low. The employment rate in South Africa is rapidly decreasing that many people in our country are looking for employment. There were many struggles and victories, but this was something I knew was achievable. There were so many things I learnt from the incredible staff from Greenchild Project.
I spent a year doing Generic Management learnership that meant so much to me personally. The work experience I gained at Greenchild Project was wonderful, that if I get a permanent job I will be able to implement it in the workplace. I enjoyed working with Olwethu France (Facilitator) who taught me all my modules I completed for the year. There were a few modules I struggled with, and there were a few I really enjoyed.
Greenchild Project cares very much for disabled people making a success in their everyday life. Greenchild Project makes a difference in your life, although you see nothing but eventually you will start to notice the difference.
Finally, I just want to thank everyone who was part of my journey in making it successful. My success is your success, and it was a journey I enjoyed taking.
GREENCHILD PROJECT
"To handle yourself, use your head."
"To handle others, use your heart."
I have been with greenchild project for the past year 2021-2022 doing the Generic management course, I really enjoyed my time as it has prepared me for the world of work through its versatility, now I am prepared for anything or any activity that might pop up. Basically this course has taught me how to be a leader.
I am a paraplegic which means I use a wheelchair to get around, so access is of major importance to me, and with Greenchild Project that was not an issue at all, as all the premises are accessible to all kinds of disabilities, also with regards to the sitting arrangement it’s perfectly set up which made my time in this organisation actually enjoyable. I would recommend this organisation to a person who is living with a disability simply because the organisation is set up for persons living with disabilities in mind.
With regards to my facilitator, I would not rate him on any scale because he exceeded my expectations, all I can say is that all my classes were very productive, informative and I really enjoyed them.
The only challenge I faced during my time here is with regards to travelling and transportation as I can't just use any kind of transportation (paraplegic) but Greenchild project was so understanding and that lifted the weight off my shoulders
The highlight of this course for me was when we had to choose any topic and do a power point presentation with regards to that topic (was my first time doing a power point presentation) that was my highlight for this
I find the online class very nice, because it’s in the comfort of your own home. I also don’t have to worry about accessibility or getting there on time.
Covid 19 has brought about a lot of changes in South Africa but it is highlighted the importance of online learning, which I’m glad to have participated in. It’s definitely easier and comfortable.
